VETO POWER- BOON OR BANE
To all the democrats and lovers of equality the Russian times would certainly like to put forward a very obvious point which can be debated endlessly but nevertheless will bear no fruit whatsoever.For the removal of Veto powers the vote of all the 5 permanent members of the UN security council is a must and needless to say none of the countries here (especially USA) have any intention of giving up their Veto powers.

The origin of Veto power dates back to 1945 when the United Nations Organisation was first formed.USA is one of the oldest members of the UN and when it was first given the proposal to be a part of the UN it’s first condition was for the organisation to grant it undisputed Veto powers.Even today,USA is a major economic contributor to the UN.According to sources, from july 2016 to June 2017 USA has contributed to about 28.6% of the total budget used for peacekeeping operations by the UN.Hence, since it was a very powerful nation at the time and the UN organisation desperately needed funds to function and  it accepted this condition and in due course of time 4 more nations were offered the same privilage.

Coming to the point now ‘is Vito power good or bad?’Well,everything in this Universe has its own pro’s and con’s.Veto power in UN too has its own advantages and disadvantages.However,the advantages recieved in this kind of system is quite immense and is often found to be overshadowing its disadvantages.

Firstly,all the nations enjoying Veto powers are extremely huge and unimaginably powerful and a disagreement between these nations can cause widespread destruction resulting in a war probably of as high a magnitude as World War itself.Hence,to avoid unnecessary bloodshed and loss of lives it is by no means unethical for the UN to grant Veto powers.

Secondly,Veto powers are required when it becomes impossible or extremely difficult to arrive at a suitable descision which enables smooth administration.At such circumstances the Chief executive by virtue of his/her Veto power can take appropriate descions without any hassles or conflict.
Example:The American President enjoys Veto powers on many aspects of Governance

Thirdly,Veto powers prove to be extremely effective during emergencies and at times of crisis.In the UN for example,in times of crisis there is a need for quick and effective descisions to take place and at such circumstances the ethical perspective should take over the democratic perspective of the organisation and Veto powers must be immediately used since there will be absolutely no time for the resolutions to pass systematically i.e. in the form of votes.

Hence to conclude with Veto power is indeed a very effective and an extremely essential component of any multinational body especially the UN and in the long run helps immensely in better descision making.In fact with many revolutionary changes taking place across the world the Veto power can also be granted to countries like India,Japan and Germany in order to improvise on the standard of effective descision making throughout the world.

The two Superpowers, China and the United States of America made two separate blocs. These blocs made two working papers as a draft to make a resolution. These two blocs were the only two blocs in the DISEC general assembly. The working paper of the bloc headed by the delegate of the United States of America was sponsored by the delegate of South Korea, the delegate of Germany, the delegate of the United Kingdom and the delegate of France. The working paper of the delegate of China was sponsored by the delegate of Russia, delegate of Iraq, delegate of Iran, delegate of Nepal and delegate of DPRK. It is a widely acknowledged fact that the United States conducts itself in a hypocritical manner, and contradicts itself repeatedly in international forums. The Disarmament and International Security Council proved to be no different, and the press conference revealed the double standards the government has for its citizens. The United States has conducted itself in an entirely unfit manner, but somehow, it remains unsurprising.
