GET REAL WITH DELEGATES – INTERVIEW ARTICLE

Delegates post interview

During the lunch break, a few delegates of the DISEC committee were interviewed and here are their responses: -
Þ   When the delegate of Vietnam was questioned why did she find the session interesting, she replied, “the session was challenging, interesting, engaging as the many interesting topics brought under motion and the chair was quite fair and gave equal opportunities of all delegates and the policies were quite challenging “. She was then asked if she had any objections against other delegates and she just said “I cannot do anything if the other delegates come more well prepared than me so, I guess they deserve more chances than me “she also stated she wishes to form allies with Russia, Israel and China by the end of this conference.
Þ   It was then followed by the delegate of Qatar who found the session fun, tricky and a little scary as she was a first timer and also confessed she is still very nervous. She also said that she wished the Chair gave her more chances but has no objection against other delegates. she also mentions that she just wants a little more chance and wants to solve the cyber crime problems by forming allies with strong countries like China, USA and Russia.
Þ   We then asked the delegate of Taiwan her views and she simply replied – “It was pretty competitive as delegates of various countries are present here and the discussions were bizarre and provided me with loads of facts I never knew! “when asked about her plans on allies, she simply stated she has no idea. Also, she mentions that the experience so far is above her expectations and is excited for the next session.
Þ   When the delegate of Sudan was interviewed, she mentioned that it was fascinating, amazing and also wanted the topics to be a little easier as she found the topics a little complex. She also says that – “solving problems like cyber terrorism is really interesting, I believe that it inspires many people like me to stand up against such critical topics. “She also finds the sessions pretty productive and the chair and vice chair seem very nice to her. She is also amazed by the facts and the effort put in by everyone.”
Þ   The delegate of the Philippines said that the- “The sessions were very interesting, I have learnt a lot of new facts, even of some topics which I did not know even existed ! I learn more and more after every session, which makes it really interesting and the motions enforced are very relevant to the agenda and are clearly required. “ She also mentions that not everyone was recognised and nobody was treated partially . She also is not very sure in forming allies with other delegates , but is really looking forward for the next session and is really eager to find an end to cyber terrorism.
It can be thus concluded that, the delegates seem to enjoy these sessions and have great interest to know more. They only want a little more attention and have agreed to the fact that they hadn’t prepared that well… But on the brighter side they would like to make new allies with the hope to make the world a better place to live and find the ultimate end to cybercrime. they also mention that the topics covered so far were quite fascinating, challenging, tricky, logical and really practical.  They enjoy the debates and look forward to further sessions of the Model United Nations and are pretty sure of participating in future sessions too !!!!!
