A Session from Delegates point of view

discussing and perfecting the working papers 

A few delegates were asked about their point of view of the first session of the day and here is the session when one puts themselves in the shoes of a delegate: -
·       The delegate of Afghanistan shared his views with us about his point of view about the previous session. He commented that the session was really productive and seemed really spellbinding. He found the discussion of the working paper really informative as while discussing, the delegates perfected and reflected their flaws on the working paper. He strongly believes that rough drafts are supposed to have mistakes and should be corrected. He also feels that the changes to be brought in the government of his country should be enforced with the help of the UN as it is an international committee.
  • ·       According to the delegate of India, the session was pretty good, as the he was enlightened by the working papers drafted by the other blocs and obviously the working paper of his own bloc too. He would like to implement the changes in his country after receiving authorisation from the higher official and also after viewing its advantages and disadvantages. This also includes the suggestions and viewpoints of other delegates.
  • ·       The delegate of Venezuela strongly believes that the session effectively threw light on many meaningful solutions provided by the two blocs. She also believes that the setting a subordinate body of the UNSC would be a bold and effective move in the mitigating terrors like cybercrime. She also assures that Venezuela would be an active member of the subordinate body if it is introduced and would readily comply with the rules of the body.

·       The delegate of Australia states that the committee has made immense progress today and at the fact that they have successfully come up with resolutions. “Honestly this is the first time in a committee that the delegate has been in resolution that has been defeated. the working papers had many errors which were rectified resulting in one resolution. “However, he mentions that he is not satisfied to the answers of the points of information given to him.” Australia has a goal to achieve i.e. stronger cyber terrorism prevention cooperation and prosecution with a particular focus on the Indo-Pacific region. In order to achieve this step should be taken. For instance, awareness about cyber terrorism in the Indo-Pacific region and region, assist Indo-Pacific countries to strengthen their cyber terrorism mitigating legislature, deliver an anti cyber terrorism law enforcement and prosecution capacity building in the Indo-pacific and to enhance a diplomatic dialogue and international information sharing on cyber terrorism.
  • ·       The delegate of China states that the session was mind blowing and has no words to describe it. He states that the session allowed all the delegates to explore others point of view and he also says that the working papers were really fun to work on. And to answer the point of information was quite tricky.
  • ·       The delegate of Brazil mentions that the session was really explanatory as the delegates were really communicative and showed great interest which reflected in their working papers and during the point of information. The method of enforcing changes would include speaking and convincing the higher officials and making it strict in their nation  

From the following interviews the session seems to be really informative, and accountable and proves that the countries are working hard to find one standard solution to end cybercrime. on the whole all delegates strongly believe that these changes can be brought about by convincing the higher authorities and seeing the pros and cons.

The two Superpowers, China and the United States of America made two separate blocs. These blocs made two working papers as a draft to make a resolution. These two blocs were the only two blocs in the DISEC general assembly. The working paper of the bloc headed by the delegate of the United States of America was sponsored by the delegate of South Korea, the delegate of Germany, the delegate of the United Kingdom and the delegate of France. The working paper of the delegate of China was sponsored by the delegate of Russia, delegate of Iraq, delegate of Iran, delegate of Nepal and delegate of DPRK. The working paper of the delegate of China stated the need for an international organization like the ITU to help curb Cyber-warfare. The delegate of USA stated that that the UN Security Council can make a sub-body who's members would be elected by the general assembly and would create an international cyber-code. United States; Divided Thoughts

It is a widely acknowledged fact that the United States conducts itself in a hypocritical manner, and contradicts itself repeatedly in international forums. The Disarmament and International Security Council proved to be no different, and the press conference revealed the double standards the government has for its citizens. The United States has conducted itself in an entirely unfit manner, but somehow, it remains unsurprising. When asked informally, the delegate of the US said that she would refuse to answer any questions in the press conference, so it came as a surprise when she spoke on gun control regulations within the US.
